Penney celebrated its 4th annual fundraiser with 2 special days: Friday, April 21, was the first Senior Healthcare Symposium. Geared toward healthcare professionals who serve older adults, the roster of speakers was impressive, with experts from Mayo Jacksonville, the University of Florida, St. Vincent’s HealthCare, Baptist Health and Community Hospice & Palliative Care.

Heroes through Time: PRC Fabric Arts Entry in the Great American Honor Quilt Challenge   Marjorie Hollowell and Linda Sabin both active participants in the Arts & Crafts Fabric Arts Department created this special quilt in response to the Blank Quilting Company 2017 Honor Quilt Challenge.

Penney Retirement Community’s marketing director, Rebecca Padgett, RN, was interviewed by Melissa Ross on First Coast Connect, WJCT in Jacksonville, Tuesday, April 7. Rebecca addressed the importance of older adults taking an active role in making the decision for their future living and health care.

On February 11th, Penney Retirement Community will host a Golden Anniversary party for all resident couples who will celebrate their 50th Anniversaries in 2017. There are 88 couples at Penney who have celebrated 50 or more years of marriage – three of  which have been married 74 years!

PENNEY RETIREMENT COMMUNITY COUPLE RECOGNIZED WITH THRASHER-HORNE CENTER AWARD Congratulations to Jack and Helen Stephens, Penney residents since 2004, for receiving the 2015-16 Executive Director Award for 13 years of volunteer service at the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts!
