Penney Farms, FL, — The second annual Penney Retirement Community Circle of Family & Friends Weekend kicks off March 20 & 21 with a series of fun events, food and entertainment, capped with a dinner that features speaker Tony Boselli. The Platinum Sponsor for the weekend is Northeast Florida Community Hospice.

Proceeds benefit the new Shepherding the Shepherds Scholarship, which helps individuals who are retiring to Penney Retirement Community, in honor of their lifetime of service to others. Gold & Silver sponsors of the event include J.P. Perry Insurance and St. Vincent’s Clay County.

The weekend starts on Friday, March 20, with a BBQ in the Park from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Located in Kohler Park in Penney Farms, the evening will include square dancing, music, a BBQ dinner, petting zoo, and more. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 15, and are available at the door.

The Family Reunion on the Square begins Saturday, March 21, on the Penney Retirement Community campus from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission and parking are free and the event is open to the public. The Family Reunion will include music, food, an antique car show, displays, and tours of the campus.

The weekend celebration finishes with an elegant dinner at the Thrasher-Horne Conference Center. Former professional football player Tony Boselli is the featured speaker for “Faith and Philanthropy.” Bosselli will talk about how he has combined his faith with his professional career, as well as the importance of philanthropy. Tickets are $75 per person by calling (904) 531-7032. A reception begins at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m. Seating is limited.
